Costume Manufacturer
Q: What is the average lead time for a costume order?
A: Due to the nature of our business, we custom make each item to order and the average lead time is at least 48 hours before we are able to package the item for shipping and despatch your order. Each
fancy dress costume is hand finished and quality checked before we send it out to you. Naturally our lead time can vary during peak seasons so if your
fancy dress costume, corset, or
theatre garments are needed urgently, we recommend that you contact us to discuss actual lead times.
Q: How long would it take to make my corset?A: Our
corset ordering facility is a personal service and we don’t like to rush perfection. From initial consultation to final garment averages from 2-4 weeks. Under extreme circumstance and dependant on current work flow, we are able to move this lead time forward but this needs to be discussed at the time of order.
Q: How do I order a bespoke fancy dress costume?A: For
bespoke fancy dress orders or mixing and matching our current range, you would need to contact us at custom@magic-mirror.co.uk to arrange a call back to discuss your ideas, lead times, viability and pricing
Q: Is there a discount for multiple orders?A: Yes, if you order 3 or more costumes at full price (excluding special offers or reduced items) we will automatically reduce your final bill by 10%. If you intend to order more than 3 costumes, please contact us to discuss your discount options before you complete your purchase.
Q: I would like to customise my order for a fancy dress Hen Night? What are my options?A: At Magic Mirror we believe
Hen Night fancy dress costumes are as important as the Wedding Dress! We are able to create unique designs for as many as 20 women to ensure you’re all coordinated but with a little something special for the Bride. For our
Hen Night costume range, we transfer rhinestones to the costume to emphasise the night out and phrases can include, but not limited to, “Bride to Be”, Mother of the Bride”, “Bride” or even “Getting Married”. To discuss your special night and how we can coordinate your costumes, get in touch at info@magic-mirror.co.uk for a no obligation quote.
Q: Can I order part of a costume you have on your website?A: Yes. This will need to be done directly with us so you’ll need to email us at info@magic-mirror.co.uk to request a call back and to discuss pricing and lead times.
Q: How do I order a fancy dress costume in a different colour or fabric?A: If there is a costume you wish to purchase in an alternative colour or fabric you should contact us via custom@magic-mirror.co.uk and we will endeavour to send out fabric samples and colours in the post. Fabric swatches will be sent at a charge of £3.00 or we can e-mail them to you but we’re not liable for the quality of the image.
Q: The sizing chart doesn’t quite fit my measurements. What should I do?A: If you fall within more than one of our sizes and are concerned that an item will not fit your dimensions, please e-mail us at info@magic-mirror.co.uk before you place your order for advice. Once the item has been ordered we are not able to offer a refund and under no circumstances accept returns.
Q: Can I pay by cheque or Credit/Debit Card?A: Yes. Cheques should be made payable to Magic Mirror and posted to
Magic Mirror, 423 King Street, Stoke on Trent, ST4 3EE. All costumes, corsets or fancy dress accessories purchased by cheque will not be despatched until the payment has cleared so please leave at least 7 days before you need your item if you’re paying by this method. If you would like to pay by Debit or Credit card, you will need to call us on 01782 328989 to give your card details and we will call you back with an authorisation code and confirmation of payment after we have processed this through our Barclaycard Chip and Pin terminal.
Q: Can I visit your design studio to view a fancy dress costume or corset before I decide to purchase?A: Yes you can but you will need to make an appointment beforehand. This is due to insurance purposes and to ensure that we are able to dedicate an adequate amount of time to you during your visit
Q: I have an idea I would like creating into a costume. Is this possible?A: We love new ideas and concepts and ask that before we commit to creating your idea you e-mail us at custom@magic-mirror.co.uk with as much information on your idea as possible and where applicable a photograph. From here, we will assess the viability of your request and advise you if your creation is possible. If we are able to create your idea for you, we will contact you to discuss fabrics, colours, lead times and prices before we begin construction. For all bespoke items, full payment is required before construction commences and in the unlikely event that you’re unhappy with the final result we are only able to offer a refund of 25% due to our time invested into creating your idea and the cost of fabrics we use.
Q: Are you able to deal with volume orders for theatrical costumes or film?A: Of course! We operate from our own design studio and complete cutting room so are more than capable and willing to work on theatrical productions or with film crews to create their masterpieces. We are also able to provide testimonials from companies that have commissioned us to provide 150-400+
bespoke theatrical costumes. In order to discuss this avenue in more detail and to review the quality of our creations, please contact us directly on 01782 328989 to arrange a meeting.
